Canadian violinist Lara St. John lives in NYC, right in the heart of the Covid-19 pandemic in this country. As you might imagine, her world has changed dramatically.

Abused, then Mocked: Acclaimed violinist says she was sexually assaulted by her renowned teacher at the Curtis Institute, and then disregarded when she reported it.
Released in 1999, François Girard’s film The Red Violin crystallized an image of the instrument for many who don’t usually listen to classical music: the violin as simultaneously a vehicle for ultimate beauty and a protagonist that transcends time.
